Sri Lankan students Thisath Dinsara, Shadhurshan Senthurraja, Rivisth Semika, and Nadeeja Sasmitha are proudly representing Sri Lanka at the 3rd International Nuclear Science Olympiad (INSO 2026), taking place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from 2–9 August 2026.
Hosted at King Abdulaziz University, INSO 2026 is organized by the Ministry of Education, the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba), and the King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy (KACARE). The Olympiad brings together around 120 participants from 19 countries.
The International Nuclear Science Olympiad (INSO), approved by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in 2024, serves as a global scientific platform for students to exchange knowledge and expertise in nuclear science and its peaceful applications.
The Olympiad promotes the safe and peaceful use of nuclear technologies, encourages young people to pursue studies and careers in the field, and inspires the development of innovative solutions that expand the peaceful applications of nuclear science.
We extend our warmest wishes to the Sri Lankan team for every success in the competition.
